Sarah land of Egypt 1st time

Sarai (Sarah) in the Land of Egypt

As the story goes of Abram and Sarah were about to enter Egypt because of famine in the land. Before they were to enter Abram heard the voice of the Lord day unto him" behold, sarai, they wife, is a very fair woman to look upon; Therefore it shall come to pass, when the Egyptians shall see her, they will say-She is his wife; and they will kill yoi, but they will save her alive; Therefore see that he do on this wise: Let her say to the Egyptians, she is that sister, and th soul shall live. And it came to pass that I, Abraham told Sarai, my wife, all that the Lord said into me- therefore say into them, I pray thee, thou art my sister, that it may be well with me for the sake, and my soul shall live because of thee. " Abraham 2:22-25Abraham being worried about his wife and himself being killed asked Sarah to say she was his sister to save his life.

The pharoah ended up giving  Sarah everything. The Lord then plagued pharoah's house because Sarah was Abrams wife. The next day we see Pharoah  calling upon  Abram and Pharoah's asks what he did to curse his house?  Abram then tells that Sarah is his wife. Pharoah's then sends them on their way after that.

My thoughts on Sarah in this situation is how would it be to be wooed by the pharoah? Knowing you are married. How would it be to be asked by your husband to keep it a secret that you are married? To go in to a land afraid because of your beauty that they would kill your husband for you. My thoughts she knew the dangers of speaking that they were married Just as much as Abram did. Sarah loved her husband enough to go through the whole scheme of not disclosing they were husband and wife. Could she have been praying to God in pharaohs court to save her from being wooed because she was afraid what might happen to her? Because of her prayers God helped and intervened in her behalf and  give pharoah's house a curse. Which have them a way of passage so Abram could survive and move through Egypt with safety. 

As women could we do what Sarah did and deny our marriage to gain safe passage? Would we be willing to stand by our husbands side and do what is asked of us through the lord? Could we resist the temptation that Sarah must have gone through of being wooed by another to keep marriage vows and not fall for another? How many of us would have faith in the Lord that he would keep you safe and  intervene? 

So much in life we forget that when we do right by God and try to live his commandments that God does things to help intervene in our life. They might be sutile little things such as a phone ringing to change the course of action That could've possibly ended up worst. We are in Sarah's situation how sutile but significant God help intervene to keep her marriage in tact. He helped her and Abram survive what could've cost him his life.

If we can learn  here in Sarah's situation is God wants us to hold strong to values. He will intervene when he asks us to do something that saves another. While we are doing our part he doesn't forget what we have up but becomes an intervention to help us in our life. When we remember and have faith that he will be there for us we can see a miracle happen no matter how sutile it may be.
