Eve, The Garden, The Transgression

The Garden was a place that Adam and Eve could still walk and talk personally with God with out a life line. They were able to feel his presence like we do with in our own parents house. This reminds me of the reason why we are taught about temples. Why we as member s of the church of Jesus Christ of latter day saints strive to live righteously to enter his house. Without being able to live a life to be able to enter into the temple a place we are taught that we can feel God's presence nearby.

God gave Adam and Eve assignments (chores) to do in the garden. He told them to take care of the animals and take care of the garden. When you think about what God asked them to do is teach them responsibility and a way to survive when they finally go out on their own. This reminds me of the way we as mothers and fathers (parents) try to show are kids threw chores we give them. We want our own children to be ready to enter the world with out us and to be able to survive.I remember when my oldest son graduated my thought was " I hope when he leaves and is on his own i have taught him enough by my example of love for him. That way he can survive on his own. "

We also know God told them that they could eat of all the trees  freely except the  tree of knowledge. In Moses 3:17 but of the tree of knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it, nevertheless, thou latest choose for thyself, for it is given into thee; but, remember that I forbid it, for in the day thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die. So this verse here tells me that God forbids them to take of the fruit but there will be a consequence of they choose to do so. The choice alone to partake of the fruit that causes the fall and opens the door to follow God's commandment to replenish the Earth had to be theirs and theirs alone. 

When Eve ran into the serpant that tempted her into eating of the fruit she must be recognized him as the voice of her brother satan. Probably thinking to herself "how is this possible? We fought against you to be able to be here? To follow Christ to be able to have agency?" Could she have thought the words that he was saying to her that it would cause such an effect on her life from that point on? Eve made a conscience choice. She had to sift through everything that the serpant was saying to her . What a choice she made that opened the doors to to all of us. She used her free agency which had to play a role. She then told her husband what had happened(consulting with him). Here it teaches me the way we should be with our  spouse. Taking time to evaluate the circumstance at hand. Then he has the choice to let her take the fall to her self or to join her in the same stepsh took.  Adam the took the next step to be with his wife and partook of the fruit of the tree of knowledge. Making the choices they made theirs and theirs alone. Entering into a probationary state of learning bringing upon the fall of mankind.

They his when they heard God's voice. They then tried to cover themselves up with  fig leaves. When God asked why they hid. Adam and Eve answered that they were naked. How many times in our life do we feel as though we are naked? We try and go through life without God's help or someone that knows a situation better than us. So we hide in our fig leaves. We try to cover up the mistakes we make and make the situation worse. Until we decide to come forward like adam and Eve do with God.

They answer his questions truthfully that the age of the fruit and the reason the his was they were naked.

Then we see a living father clothe them with his love and gives to Adam the priesthoodpriesthood, we also learn that while in the garden they were babtized. They were still taught by a loving heavenly father what they would experience and what they should do for each other before leaving the garden.

The things that I have picked up from Eve's role in the garden and the fall is God is merciful and has a plan for us. He gives us out agency in being able to choose for ourselves the way life  will take s us. Even if satan tries to destroy us he still uses that for training  and learning. God uses satan rises for our betterment.  We also learn with eve that satan as High Nibley says" postulated that ever since then satan has 'had it in for women'". He knows the good and effort and the influence we have On others lives our children's and our own families. Individually and collectively, all women and men could learn respect to one another's strengths and to watch out for one another to work as a team in God's plan.

Satan must be thought he had a chance to diminish us from becoming like God at that time not knowing his full plan. Eve that day she partook of the fruit made the decision  with a conscience choice. She had to know within herself knowing her true identity within herself  in knowing she is and will be eternally a daughter of god. She knew her mission but not realizing how she would come about doing what God commanded until that day she opened the doors and have us all a chance to be born on this earth.
