Eve and Pre-Existing

Eve and Pre-Earth Life

In the Pearl of Great Price we learn that we all lived together in heaven and that we fought a great war. It all started in Abraham 3:27-28 says " and the Lord said: whom shall I send? And one answered like into the son of man. Here am I send me. And another answered and said: here am I send me. And the Lord said:I will send the first. And the second was angry, and kept not his first estate; and at that day, many followed after him." Here we learn our beginning of free agency by choosing who we would follow Christ or Satan. We learn that we  kept our first estate and were able to come down to Earth.  Being taught  teachings from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints we are taught that this  Earth life is our second estate; our probationary period to grow and learn all that God knows mortally. We have learned from prophets of the church  that the first estate is our pre-existence. We lived once upon a time in a world with God as his spirit children.

What we learn about Eve in the pre-life from prophets is that she fought along side her husband Michael (Adam) in that great war. She was diligent then in standing by his side in heaven as will as going through  the garden and this life on earth. She fought for the good of free agency.  Elder Bruce R.McKinley said " she  was among the bible and great in the pre-existence. She ranked in spiritual stature, in faith, and devotion in conformity to the eternal law with Michael. " Being foreordained to become the "Mother of all Living." from that time fore-ward.

So what characteristics  and lessons do we learn about Eve from the pre-existence? We learn that she fought for free agency which she must have  known its goodness and been taught  from the beginning. She kept her first estate otherwise she wouldn't be called the mother of all living. We learn that her spiritual stature is of faith and devotion to the eternal laws that God set forth in heaven. We learn that she fought along side with her husband Michael(Adam). She also fought along side us her Earthly children her legacy to life. Ensuring that we would still have our free agency when we came and would receive our mortal bodies.We learn that Eve was always a partner from the beginning to Adam. The other thing we learn about her is she is a daughter of god spiritually and physically. She had knowledge that she was once his in his arms and loved by him.

Another thing that Bruce R McConkie said of Eve and the spiritual sisters is "certainly these sisters labored diligently then and fought as valiantly in the war in heaven, as did the brethren even like manner stand firm today in mortality, in the cause of truth and righteousness." What I take away from Eve and  of the learning of myself is we fought just as hard alongside Eve our first mother to all of us living to keep our  free agency. To be able to have a choice to learn and gain experience here upon this earth life. We have that choice because Eve and all of us decided to fight then against those who wanted to take that right of freedom away from us and be forced to make it back to God. I find that it is interesting that all of us have always fought alongside of those who came before for good and evil. That agency to be able to choose for ourself. When you look at history countries fight for agency, me fight for the freedoms agency gives, women fight for agency to choose agency. We still continue that fight today with Satan and his followers to choose agency for ourself daily no matter if its for self, country, others we still fight the same fight here in this life. except we have a mortal body and the ones that we seem to fight our spirits pursuing others mortally to follow them. We knew in heaven that their was a truth and righteousness to the teachings that God gave us in heaven. That choice of who we would follow to give mankind  a  redeeming love a way back home to god through Christ. Yet we as humans have the choice to remember who god is to remember who we are by our learning of him through the scriptures.

In Moses 3:5 "God created all things....... Spiritually before they were naturally upon the earth." Because we were all created spiritually before coming down to this life we also became preordained in certain responsibilities . We were given blessings pursuant to our strength and personalities that God seem within us and trials to help strengthen them. Just like Eve who was preordained and blessed to become the mother of all living from the very beginning. Eve was a partner with her husband she became a key team member to this earthly family. She then moved on in this life to giving us a way for  to have life. Not only did she play a part to bring about life but helping the great plan of salvation come into play.That plan that we all fought so hard for to keep our free agency.

I ask myself what have I learned about her from what I've read from prophets and the scriptures of the pre-existence?

What characteristic  did Eve posses from the beginning?

What abilities did she show from the beginning of her personality and who she is?
 How has the effects of being the first woman played apart on what men think of women today?
