Dove Sent from the Ark
Genesis 8:8-12 He sent forth a dove from him to see if the waters abated from off the face of the ground, but the dive found no rest for the sole of her foot, and she returned into him in the ark for the waters were on the face of the earth; Then he put forth his hand and took her, and pulled her in into him into the ark. And he stayed yet other seven days and again he sent forth the dive out of the ark, and the dove came into him in the evening; and, lo, in her mouth was an olive leaf picket off: So Noah knew all the waters were abated from off the earth. And he stay yet other seven days; and sent forth the dove; which returned not again.
Towards the end of the journey on the ark Noah sends out a dove, a female dove of all. To me it shows the significance of women and the things that a women can provide in life to mankind. Doves have been used as a symbol of peace, love, and a messenger of god. In Noahs story the dove symbolizes a new beginning. How much do us as women show others love and try to help new beginnings in another's life?.Or we try to bring peace to circumstances by trying to solve the problem? Or we try to be a messenger of God's love around us.
The thing I found interesting about the dove is its unique ability to produce its own milk. When it's time for the young to be born they quit eating in a self-service to make sure their babies have a pure milk. As a mother we in return sacrifice so much for our own children to make sure they get the best knowledge or whatever it may be we put aside so our children can have it. Making sure that their needs are meet.
The lessons i can learn from this female dove is she was in the service of God for mankind. Being an intuitive creature of both the air and earth which can be a stabilization to a higher mind or being of air and earth being a practical level of grounding in following God's work. Showing us a role to help us find an inner peace to help go through our life with a calm in christ and a purpose in serving. In return we feel the love and promises that God can give by getting to know him.
Like the dove going out there times God teaches us that no matter our external and internal circumstances we can obtain peace through his son. He is always there with open arms to turn our problems over to no matter if it's son or just flat out hurting inside. He is always there even during our good times. We just need to turn to him and he open to finding out personal peace inside with him.
