Woman of Blood Issue
The Woman with the blood issue story is found in the New Testament in the books of Mathew 9:20-22, Mark 5:25-34, and Luke 8:43-48. We have in her story three different books it is shared in from the bible, we have three stories from three different people telling it the best way that they remembered the events ,and we have three witnesses to explain and tell her story of what they had seen. Bringing us to incompleteness of her story from her bringing together what her body was going through for twelve years, mentally how she was starting to feel with her condition, and how her spirit desires the healing Christ brought to her.
We know that this woman was diseased with a blood issue what type we are unsure of doesn't say. It could be been something of the flesh like a hemophilia goes through, or it could be another thing such as someone who has chronic ITP dealing with clotting issues, or as many of us women know about periods just keep bleeding and never stop. I like to believe it was something more like a hemophilia or someone with a chronic blood issue such as ITP( short for idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura). I have actually learned all to will about this blood disorder over the past three years that my own son has been diagnosed with it. No matter what the physicians say my child doesn't clot and bruises develop with the slightest bump. Females that have this disorder they have a problem with bleeding with their periods but they have learned to help them so it can stop. Being under constant doctor care because of the clotting factor. I have had a hard time after my own experience of continuation bleeding from my period to believe it could possibly be that because I was bleeding to death. Which makes it hard for me into believing it is that kind of bleeding From a period and after learning of blood disorders easier to see especially since she felt it through her whole body. She dealt with her condition for twelve years. And even through the law of Moses issue of the blood through the flesh would make a person unclean which is talked about in Leviticus 15:19-24. Rendered in her society as being unclean because whatever situation she had is an issue with the blood and continued so long. She spent all that she had to get better and it seemed the only thing that was happening was she was getting worse.
She wasn't scared to leave and seek Christ out in a society that looked at her as in clean. Knowing with in her heart that she could be made whole through Christ so she took the steps to do her part to be healed. She knew deep inside her soul that if she could just touch the hem of Christ's garment she could heal from her plague to the blood issue. She sought him out in the crowd no matter what society felt about the unclean and reached out and touched his garment. Where immediately she felt the affects of her faith the blood dry up and that her body was healed completely of the plague. Jesus them sought out who touched him because he his virtue leave his body and asked who touched him. Seeking out in the crowd who touched him. She finally comes forward scared and trembling fell to the ground saying she was the one that touched him. Declaring to her Jesus tells her " daughter be of good comfort. The faith hath made the whole go in peace. "
Under the old law she was unclean because of the things she was going through with the blood in the New law she became clean and became able to dwell among people again. She never made Christ unclean because laws reversed and he helps us become clean. When we seek Christ out as this woman did while he was on his way to see Jarius' daughter. Christ was moved to action by her faith that he stopped to recognize her faith.
Teaching is that Christ is a redeeming God and that she didn't let her issue of society keep her exiled because of her faith to be healed. She knew all she needed to do was reach out to him and that she could be healed.
Are we believers who look for him in faith to be healed through his redeeming love for us? Do we seek him out even though society or things in our life has made us feel unclean to help heal us through our faith in him? Can we trust and have faith in him such as the woman with the blood issue to heal us and help us along our way? Do you believe he can restore you to the person you know inside are !want to be bringing you back to him?
She teaches us that faith was her key of being healed. To step out of the box even when feeling in despair and seek for christ. To take action to bare your testimony even though it might be small you never know whose life you might touch or help get through a problem by the way you have relied on god. She believed what the physicians said was impossible that it could be possible through Christ to heal. She teaches us that anything we do is done without his knowledge that he recognizes us through it all.
She teaches when she came forward saying she touched his garment that we do have a Reliance on god, that God is bigger than our life alone, and that when our faith is dying nothing is impossible, and he acknowledges us for our faith.

- The things I feel that can be learned from her is she knew she had a trial that was making her feel worse. That the physicians couldn't do anything more for and that she needed Christ to heal her. She knew that the worldly things that were offered weren't the answer to her problems anymore and that spiritually she needed christ. With my son's issue with his blood we have gone through blessings and the thing that stood out to me is that this was needed at this time but it will be his faith when the time comes that will heal him. When I now read this woman's story it makes me wonder how many blessings might she have gone through? Maybe she was told like my son it wasn't even the time to be healed. When Christ came she knew it was time for healing. So she sought him out. Her purpose to show us her faith and be called one of his own.

How would it be to hear the Lord's words of comfort like he gave this nameless woman and called his daughter? Being told find be of comfort your faith is what made you whole? Can we find that type of peace today. She is an example of seeking out his blessings in faith. I believe we can find same type of healing today when we seek Christ out like this women with the blood issue.
