Ishmael Daughters Traveling
1 Nephi 7:6 And it came to pass that as we journeyed in the wilderness, behold Lamen and Lamuel, and two of the daughters of Ishmael and their families did rebel against us, yea against me, Nephi , and sam, and their father, ishmael, and his wife,and his three other daughters.
This part of the story of Ishmael family traveling in the wilderness reminds me of families in vacation. Trying to enjoy each other's company but wondering why the other family members want to go and do their separate thing. Then the fight breaks out because no one really wants to work together. Causing them a rift in the family. You have the one side wanting to follow the itenary and the other side that wants to go against everything planned.
How many times in life so we want as a family in whole to follow God itenary in his commandments. So as a family for awhile we follow in the wilderness of life everything as a family. Our faith them grows what our parents have taught and we do what we are suppose to do. Just like the daughters of Ishmael did. Then as we grow in our family we decide we want sovereignty. So here comes the drift of figuring out which way we want to go. Causing the vacation fight of in going my own way while you as a family go and see that great monument. So the rebelling comes in. While the peacemaker tries to keep the peace and keep the family together saying to us " this is our family. Can't we all get along. Quit the fighting! And this really look at the big picture of God's command that he gave us." The rebellion goes on the fighting persists in the vacation plan and travel along the path. Setting in our way time taken away while we try to save our lives ones along the way to make the family memories that we want and listens to be taught.
Have you ever looked at your family the same way that you wonder why they rebel against the plan? How can I get is back on the road to keep traveling so we can all make it to our destination? A lot of times it really comes down to letting them go through what they need to in their free agency. So the hiccups occur stalling the whole family travel to make it back to the destination we all seek. Until the peacemaker seems to calm the way and the family can keep traveling together to make it to the destination set out for us all. Spiritually it comes down to we want every member to make it back who!e to our heavenly father. Plus we want them to feel the blessings that he has for each one of us.
Sometimes to make the peace after the rebelling has accord on the path we get back together as a family and temporarily travel to make it to a certain point in our life. To them work together as a family to make the itenary of the trip easy again. So we let the Lord's messenger work in our life for a space or even make a whole change and travel with the family in god itenary of our spirituality. Getting together to do the things that being the family together. What do you feel can be the most important thing that could help and being your family together in your travels of life for each one s spirituality? It could even be to help each person to build their own testimony that they can stand on their own two feet away from them?
