Leah, Rachel, and Handmaids meet Esau
In the land of Schehem Jacob's brother comes and meets up with Jacob and his family. Still fearful of his brother he lines his family up in a certain order. The first ones at the forefront at Zilpah and Bilhah with their children. Next he put Leah with her children. Then at the end by him he put Rachel and her son. The significance of the order of view of who he felt of most importance. Jacob being afraid of what might come when he meets his brother places them according to his priorities.
How would you feel if you placed in line to the significance of the way you are valued? Or have you ever been placed in that order? Or even have you done that to others? We usually treat another according to the way that we care for them. Sometimes it looks even like favoritism to another who really wants or trying to find favor with us.This takes me to wonder how do we receive favor in God's eyes? Isaiah 66:2 says, " For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show himself strong on behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him. " So what are some ways to find favor in God's eyes? We as Isaiah says be strong in him through his word and strive to be like him by doing all that is good through him. We can also have faith. We can near our tesitomonies. We can be accepting of others and serve those who need service.
The other thing this reminded me of us when I was in seminary my teacher said about the scriptures that there were different levels of learning when we read them we each have a different understanding and teaching that comes to us. Just like the different degrees of glory Jesus talk about with the sun, the moon, and the stars. "
These women were held to the degrees that Jacob looked at them. And we're introduced to Esau in the manner that Jacob felt was there degree of glory in his house. Just like us on the church of Jesus Christ of latter-day saints is even taught about the different kingdoms from the celestial, terrestial, and telestial kingdoms. According to our hearts after the last judgement and resurrection we will be placed in our glory according to our hearts in one of these kingdoms. All this being part of God's plan. The celestial is the highest of the kingdom's being compared to the sun. That is where we can always be in the presence of God and jesus. The terrestrial kingdom being compared to the moon's glory where they can feel of the presence of jesus. And the third called the telestial kingdom reserved for those after being held in spirit prison. Each of us assigned to our inheritance depending on what knowledge and conversion we know of god. In the end we will be judged according to our works. It's our hearts desires that places us were we will be in God's favor and in the end what we inherit in his kingdoms from him. The glory and manners of what choice we choose is what comes to us.
