Leah-The Trickery Wife

You have Jacob after working for seven years for Rachel go to get his bride. They have a party for the celebration and in the morning he finds out he married her sister Leah. Leah is described as doe eyed to look at. Told that it is custom that the oldest had to be married first. Accepting the fait of what just happened he even asked to work another seven years for rachel.

There were other plans for Leah and Jacob. Things didn't go as planned on the marriage. Sometime in life it seems that we make plans and then the unexpected happens and the plans go another way. God's plans in our life may come as a surprise of the unexpected. It's the way that we turn and react to the situation. Leah here was used as a pawn by her father to have her married off first. She became the trickery bride. Jacob them turned around and accepted that he married her and decided he would make a life with her but he still wanted the woman he feel in love with. For Leah to decide to go along with the plan must have been a hard decision. To decide whether or not you would be accepted. Or not would be mentally exhausting. Preparing for a wedding that wasn't even yours to begin with and then to have your husband the next day wake up and realize the trickery that was made would be hard to go through. She made the decision and became one of the Mother s to the tribes in israel. Have you ever made a hard decision in your life not knowing whether you would be accepted or your choice would be accepted?

What is doe eyes anyways? The Oxford dictionary describes it as soft large dark eyes. What can we gather from the significance of her eyes. She probably has some sort of softness to her that took in the world and a larger perspective. Which can teach us the way that God sees things for us. He sees the plan at hand and then the perspective of the larger picture of the plan for us. Have you ever thought this is unexpected to my life but the plan at hand seems  to be good to move forward with. Just looking at the direction that happens upon us to make a choice like Leah did can bring about blessings that are unexpected to his plan. It's still a plan on our life to help us get to where God wants us to be. We can learn from her that she saw the bigger picture and accepted God's will for her.
