Lemuel's Daughters Blessing
2 Nephi 4:8-9 And it came to pass that after my father made an end of speaking to the sons and daughters of Laman, he caused the sons and daughters of Lemuel to be brought before him. And he spake into them saying: Behold my sons and daughters, who are the sons and daughters of my second son, behold I leave unto you the same blessing which I left into the sons and daughters of Laman: wherefore thou shalt not utterly be destroyed, but in the end they seed shall be blessed.
I find that it is interesting that Lehi took first Laman's family and then Lemuel's family and counseled them in family counsel but each to the needs that needed to be heard. We learn from the blessing to Lemuel's Daughters and sons they had the same blessing as Lamans. The thing that Nephi brings out about this families blessing is that they were blessed that they shall not be destroyed, but in the end they seed shall be blessed. These daughters along with their brothers were given a comforting word by Lehi that in the end they will be blessed. What do you feel that it would mean in the end to be blessed? How can we understand the blessings that God can give us in the end? Or even through our life?
We have temporary blessings in our life that deal with food on our table, a a roof over our head, clothes on our back that some struggle to have daily or some have more than plenty. Then we have spiritual blessings the things that God gives us our talents, our testimonies, our familes, our peace in knowing him. So many different things can be considered in our temporal and spiritual blessings. What do you feel blessed about that is temporal? What do you feel blessed about spiritually? I find it interesting that in the end with these daughters that they can find comfort in knowing that their seed shall be blessed. After What ever trial regardless of their circumstance God will show them a way back and give blessings unto them. Have you ever found that with whatever trial you go through you can find some sort of relief or even feel like God is blessing you through it all? During our pain or loss of will when we return to god there seems to be some sort of relief to know that he is still there. And like any parent here on earth he still is willing to give us all to us and pour out blessings onto us. The blessings we feel from God helps us to feel satisfied through him and his son Jesus christ. All they ask is we draw closer to him and learn of him while he shows us his love. Even if we have temporal blessings that Sariah our needs and brings us closer or the spiritual needs that brings us more towards knowing him. Even if the trials of our life we feel become mercies to bring us to feeling those blessings from god. His giving us the tools to learn and appreciate the gifts that he is giving us through his blessings.
