Sariah Following in Faith
Sariah follows her husband Lehi into the wilderness taking their family to follow what God has told them to do. She followed and packed with faith the essentials they needed and took each one of their children with. To live a life of unknowing where God was going to guide them to. With a three day travel towards the red sea. Doing the will of your husband being led by God because of his dream that Jerusalem would be destroyed. How many of could just get and leave because of a dream our husband or someone we love has had?
I would find it hard to be asked to leave it all behind, but at the same time grateful to have my children surrounded around me. Sariah got up and proceeded in god will and followed in faith gathering everyone together to leave. In my mind it makes me wonder if she had stuff all ready prepared to just up and go in a place like we have camping gear just in case of an emergency? She must be had a lot of trust in her husband to know he was a man of God to be able to get up and go! Could you have that much trust in your spouse or people around you to get up and follow in faith to no man's land? Unsure what the plan would next be.
The thing that she really teaches me is she had faith and trusted enough to follow her husband. She was willing to follow his lead in knowing what God's plan was for them their family to go and leave everything behind to abide by God's will. Her husband and her had to have good communication to be able to trust that the lord spoke to lehi. That she knew her husband's heart enough to say I will proceed in God's will and follow you on faith that the lord commanded us to go. How many of us have that communication with our loved ones that they would trust us to just up and leave, because they know our spirituality in the lord? Do you think that the communications could be better in letting others know how you truly feel? Do you think they could follow you on faith of a problem came about or were prompted by the holy ghost that they would listen? Sariahs husband was a prophet of the lord an man of god. Do you think of you were to live your life with a prophet at hand in your home that you could still follow in faith the things The Lord wants? Hold on to the words of God and up and go at a moment's notice and say I will follow you on faith gathering my family to take with so they are not left behind? Word of thought. Proceeding in faith that all has been said in some to follow the footsteps of loved ones in faith to do God's will.
