Hagar Leaving the Family
Hagar is Told to Leave
In the next part of Hagars story we are seeing Sarah going to Abraham and asking him to cast Hagar and his son Ishmael out to leave the family structure. All because Ishmael laughed but the meaning behind can be impartial as will. Abraham packs them a bag of bread and water and sends them on their way. A heartbroken mother then place her son underneath a bush unable to see him for of thirst. She then again has an angel appear to her and tells her God has heard the prayers of her son. Telling her that there is a well of water behind the vines.Again the angel gives her revelation that twelve princes will come from ishmael. That he will be at war with almost everybody. When the angel leaves Hagar says "God seest me!"
Just like Abraham packs Hagar and Ishmael good and water to live off of God provides for us. God provides a way to survive when we use the teachings he gives us to survive in this life. To live by his laws. He know we make the mistakes but he also knows he has given us a way back to him and survive. Hagar not wanting to see her son suffer puts him under a tree and turns away in tears. How many of us as parents or have someone in our life that we love so much that we do exactly this turn our backs because we don't know how to help them? We break down and cry ourselves when inspiration hits and an answer comes to us. Hagar had an angel to guide her to water well and said it was right around the corner. We get guidance on how to with come the situation and help be a living water to that loves one to help them through their trial. Hagar was given water so her an could survive he also had faith that God would answer. She must be taught him being in Abraham's house that God hearest our prayers plus the experience she had with an angel the first time.
Again Hagar was given revelation on her son Ishmael from the angel. She was told that 12 princes would come from him. That even Ishmael would be made a great nation. Hated and loved by nations. Giving a key what the future held for his generations that they would be constantly at war. The angel telling Hagar as will that he heard her son's prayers. In letting her know that it was because of the teachings given to her son from her Abraham and Sarah that her son knew what to do and have faith that the lord would hear his prayers. That he would provide away for him and his mom to survive. It shows to me that is as women are recognized by God and the teachings we teach our children play a part in their survival and calling on god.
Another thing that after the angel leaves Hagar says "now I know God sweat me!" What a strong statement of strength. She gained a knowledge that through whatever trial she faced that God sees her. He helped process away to survive. He saw her needs as will as her son and helped them find the will of living water to help them survive. Just like Christ does for us he sees us and gives us living water through his word. He knows are needs and provides us the essential to get us by. He gives us a way to make it back and he sees us just like he saw Hagar in time of need.
