The Woman of Canaan

The Syrphecian Woman

Matthew 15:22-  , Mark 7:24-30 

 In both of these books we find a woman who can put of the coasts of Tyre and Sidon. She called into Christ saying that her daughter was previously vexed with a devil. He answered her not a word. The disciples came and said send her away. She growth after us. But he answered and said that I am not sent for the lost sheep of israel. Then she came and worshipped him saying, lord, help me. But he answered and said it is not meet that I should take the children's bread and to cast it to the dogs. And she said truth, lord yet the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from the masters table. Then Jesus answered and said unto her, I woman, great is that faith: be it into the even as thou wilt. And her daughter was made whole from that very hour.

This woman went looking for an answer from Canaan. She sought Christ out to help her in healing a loved one. She didn't want her daughter to be tortured in any way by day and evilness that had come upon her daughter. When we look at our children or someone we love unconditionally do we ever seek Christ out for answers to help them out. With endless prayers we keep praying that they will come and ask for help. The same way the woman did in persisting Christ to help her. Some times we feel as though he is getting annoyed with us as we get down our knees praying the same thing over and over again. But as Christ said to his disciples he didn't come for just Israel he can for the world. Which brought into in the moving of belief from the old mosaic law to the new covenant that Christ made with everyone on this earth. That he is the light of the  world. All that come and seek him out can receive of his healing. Her desperate cry for help even with the stumbling blocks that had been put in her way she had the faith to keep pursuing his help in healing her daughter of the vexed spirit. Christ pointed out that the children of Israel eat of his spirit first. They have a blessing which they get to know him. He the mentions the dogs. The Woman being wise answered but dogs do eat to of the crumbs of the table from the master. Because of the mercy that dog owners have of not wanting to see their animal starve they feed them  good as will. Just like Christ can to the Israelites he also came to feed the souls of every man that will accept him and take his name into him for the sake of saving souls.  It's the grace of the lord that took his word to the gentiles it was his grace that brings it to each and everyone of us in this earth that have a willing heart to listen and accept him. Eternal life will be give to all that believe in him nd follow his example. He healed the Caananite woman's daughter because of her faith knowing he was their for everyone. He accepts us all where we are for who we are no matter our background. He works his mercy to be a comfort to all that feel comfortless. He gives each of us grace and mercy and he does hear us the first time we ask. Sometimes it's a test of our own faith to seek him out diligently in his mercies.that test may even be to see what our true intentions are. The women in the story understood everything that Christ was saying to her and had taught to his people. She trully understood what she was asking Christ to do in  performing a miracle for her daughter. She knew he was there for Israel but she also understood he was there for everyone else such as her self to bring about salvation and that he would hear her places for her daughter and that he would even save her daughter.. Jesus in return accepts her testimony and faith that she had a miracle happen where her daughter was instantly healed. How many of us would keep persisting that another soul would be saved through christ? Would you give up if you heard that he wasn't just there for one particular person? Could you realize that you seeking him out on another person's behalf would be a great blessing to that person that need that miracle in there life to be saved because of the path that they are taking? How many times do we get down on our knees and keep praying over and over the same prayer to save another person soul and ask for god to open up so and so heart to his mercy? A few weeks ago in church someone asked the teacher why she was worried about her friend and said we put such a tight noise around those who try and find themself in christ? But like this woman we seek out the lord and like my friends said to me when I went inactive years ago. I don't know what you are going through but we pray for your return everyday. We want you in God's kingdom in the end with us. Please return quickly that you can feel his love again. I believe it is people who show those great characters like this woman of : faith, perserverance, believing in the atonement in our own personal lives, patience to keep being there unconditionally for us, knowledge of the mercies and grace that Christ has for us, and pray over and over again even if they feel they are repeating the same prayer. That is because we don't want anyone left out in the end we want us all there in the end. Not where outer darkness will carry away our souls to the very depth of the sea. We want to be with those we enjoy being around that is why we care what they do and how they feel. That is why we open our door of life to them.
