Mary Follows the Law of Moses

We see in Luke 2:21-24 that when the right days had come about after Christ's birth he was circumcised according to the law. Then we see after the days of purification Mary going to the temple with her son to present him to the Lord as will as her to do her sacrifice of two turtledoves or two young pigeons. All this was done according to the law of Moses in that day. When given birth to a son it was also considered holy. She followed the words of a prophet and law of the land of the day. She did the things that was commanded according to carry out the ordinances and covenants of a righteous person.
Like Mary did back then we can do today in following the prophets words in making covenants with the lord. What does it mean to actually make a covenant for the lord? It's when we make an agreement with the lord to follow his commandments. In Rosemary M. Dixon's talk "Keeping Covenants Protects Us, Prepared Us, And Empowers Us April 2014" she says We are covenant-making women of all ages walking the path of mortality back to his presence . "  Throughout the ages each of us women have taken along the way covenants with the lord. We have made agreements to walk along this path of following the lord and helping each other along the way. We have a desire to do what is best and be a saving grace in each other's life because of the influence that we play on each other. I know it's been because of wonderful women when I have faltered in my own life took time to be an influence in mine. Even my own mother had been a strength in just her love and keep living for me and each one of my siblings.

Henry B  Eyring in his talk Daughters in the Covenant said " Heavenly father smiles on you as well whenever he sees you help a daughter of his move along the Covenant path toward eternal life. And he is pleased every time you try to choose the right. He sees not only what you are but also what you may become. "  Another quote from that same talk is " you learned that our father had a plan of happiness to get you safely through those trials and that you would help bring others safely through theirs. This plan is marked by covenants with god. " and one more I liked from that talk is "the path.... We must take On our journey back to our Heavenly Father.... Is marked by sacred covenants with god." He teaches us that like Mary shows us that we all have sacred covenants that is required by God to move forward in our growth here in earth now as will as in the next life. The path has been set out for each one of us in obtaining happiness in his plan. Along the way we might falter and even though we might falter or have our own trials there are others when listening to the spirit that can help us along the way to make it back to him. It's not just the daughters he smiles about but also helping out sons to gain and except the covenants that have been set forth for all to partake of. We have a responsibility to our children in the covenants that we have made to teach them by our examples of living but also our love for them that the covenants that we make with the lord our a necessity in reaching out best and becoming the best that he knows that we can be. He wants us all to be able to reach out to help others and help another along the way but he also wants us not to forget about our own covenants that we make with him but also remember our own salvation that he can give to us. That is because he loves and knows each and everyone of us for who we are and knows what we can do when we accept his plan of who we can and be able to do the work that he needs us to do. Remember he loves you and knows your heart where you are and want to be he knows the struggles we face and knows we make covenants to strive to be more like  him. Remember who you are in god, and you will remember who you are.

As Mary showed us when she had the savior knowing who her son was she was willing to still make the covenants needed to bring her back. It could've been easy to say I don't need to do what the law says knowing who her son was. But she knew that these covenants would help her and her son progress in keeping God's commands. Following the right path and keeping sacred covenants. Remember even Jesus was babtized he knew what importance of was even for him to be an example in keeping that sacred covenant that God set forth from the beginning of the world.
