Rebekah Seeks out Answers
(Prayer and Personal Revelations)
We see in Rebekahs life that she felt troubled about her pregnancy. She then seeks out an answer and goes to the lord with her problem. The Lord then answers her prayers and let's Rebekah know that she is carrying two nations within her womb. That is why she felt that her stomach was being torn apart because they were fighting amongst themselves. if anyone has ever carried twins that's exactly how it feels like your being torn one way to another inside your stomach.The other thing she was told is that one will be more blessed than the other.
How many times in our life do we seek out the lord in prayer for answers to our personal problems? Do you ever feel like you get the answers that you were looking for? Do you think that the lord have you any personal revelation to the problem? How do you react to the answer and also help your personal revelation along?
Many times in our life we have set backs. We become unsure what the best situation is of going about the problem. Rebekah knew her answer would come from God of she seemed him out to figure out an answer to her personal problem. Her faith and willingness to seek him out instead of trying to do it on her own gained the answers she was seeking. She found out she was carrying twins and they were fighting for space within her womb.
When we go to the lord in prayer to our answers are we seeking out the real questions that come to our mind? I was trying to find an answer that went along with Rebekah seeking answers out when I came across Henry B. Eyring talk women and gospel learning in the home. He said that caught my attention "but this I know: each of you, equally yoked with sons of god, will be a major part of a miracle of gospel learning and living that will hasten the gathering of Israel and will prepare God's family for the glorious return of the lord Jesus christ." It hit me because I have 6 boys i have been entrusted to raise in this life as will as 3 daughters. What I teach my boys is what they will do in this life or I will be an impact on who they become. Rebekah was entrusted two nations to raise up to god. All this women's rights on men being evil it is actually up to us as mothers to raise them to respect women. so their daughters and sons can have someone to look up to in their life. Our legacy is what we teach our sons and daughters the respect. Rebekah sought out an answer to her prayers and was given an answer which is personal revelation from god. She was told that one son would be more blessed than the other. She then raised her boys to the best of her knowledge to be sons of god and taught them in the home.
How many times when we seek for an answer we get that personal revelation and actually go with the information. God gave us? Rebekah was taught by God what and how she should raise them to receive his blessings. So do we actually know how to recognize that personal revelation? Sometimes we stretch out beyond our current ability to receive such personal revelation to receive those answers that are most troublesome to us for our own benefit or another's needs or just to even know what or how the lord wants us to do during our day. It takes faith to step out of our comfort zone to seek out the answers and to receive those answers in our life from god. He know each of us and recognIzes we all have needs and he does guide us in ways we don't understand at times. But we just need to keep seeking and learn to recognize the answers we are being given even if that though isn't always what we expect.
