Women Persecuted by Saul
Acts22:4 And I persecuted this way into the death, binding and delivering into prisons both men and women.
Saul(Paul) was a Jew but he was also a Roman giving him a path to people's home. During a time period in his life he persecuted the newly saints hauling men and women off. The idea that he persecuted the church so much to destroy the believers hearts. Even today in countries around the world we find people in churches. Even in Sauls time when he was coming after them they still held fast to their faith. Could we risk everything to process and hold strong that faith in christ? Could you even put your family above all to proclaim the faith? Could we remember the scripture from 1 Peter 3: 13-17 even if you should suffer for the sake of righteousness,.... sanctify the Lord in your hearts, always being ready to make defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you...... Mathew 10:22 state that man will be hated for his namesake but those that endured to the end will be saved. Can these words bring comfort to be able to stand firm on solid ground in christ? Or does our own worldly desires still holdfast in our hearts. These women that Saul went after were tortured for all their faith that they believed in christ. They were dragged from their homes and persecuted for their belief. Trying to get them to turn away from all that they believed to destroy the church their inner spirits. Yet they held strong living in conditions that might have been unsuitable. Then one day things turned around and Saul(Paul) became their defender. He was now converted in defending those he once persecuted. Who knows if it was because of their faith and prayers that the Lord meet Saul along the way to bring him to their defense. Arriving at a state of headedness to help bring about God's work. How can standing strong eventually bring about another's salvation for God's good work. We are here even if we get persecuted for Christ's namesake to holdfast and ensure to the end. How can we show that we are for God in our life and How can we strive even when the world is hard on us and our wants seem high to do our best in our everyday living in following Christ?
