Christian Women Imprisoned by Saul
Acts 8:3 As for Saul, he made havoc of the church, entering into every house, and taking men and women committed them to prison.
Have you ever felt persecuted for your beliefs or the church you belong to? Here we find Saul persecuting the new members of Christianity. There beliefs were questionable and many did not want to believe that Christ has finally come and was resurrected. The old covenants of the old testament had been fulfilled with a change to adding into the New covenants now. Moses law had now passed it way to bringing a new life and more to hope into in the New Testament. What did that mean for the beginning of the New church and these women that became imprisoned. They needed to holdfast to God's word and even when persecuted follow his will. That meant they stood strong even when days were tough and tribulation aspired. Many times we feel that living God's word becomes hard even pick and choose what we want to live. How can we truly believe one thing is right and another is wrong? Is it because we choose who we hang around is the what we are going to do in the here and now? Women and men for centuries have been persecuted for the belief in christ. He even says in the scriptures that those who choose to follow him will face persecution from those that don't believe. But if we choose to follow him we will find that everlasting life. The scriptures also quote that man can not serve to masters either he will hate the one and love the other or love the one more than the other. In my life I have found as my mom would call me to sit along the side lines of the fence. Trying to decide which way to go. My actions in some ways showed I wanted things of the world and believed in things that God could offer me. Choices made and sometimes my choices weren't choose but because I say so long on a decision it then became my decision by my indecisive mind. I always have known God exists and that his son had died for me, but the thing I have come to realize that it is my testimony, the beliefs I was taught as a child, and desires would eventually bring me to know God and His son Christ better in my life. Even learning that my tribulations that I have gone through have been a building block. Many times I think of growing up and how some of my friends would say to me not to associate with so and so because they weren't the same faith as us. I still think today like I did them we are human God made us to be there no matter what for each other. Even though so and so isn't a member of my faith there still is common ground somewhere that we both share. Is it fair that we persecute another because their religion isn't the same as ours. If they have a belief in christ or even because of the religion that we at do you feel fair that another person doesn't think you aren't a christian. We can be the persecuted just like Saul who grew up knowing the Jewish religion and go against those who believe in christ. Or we can find that common ground and love as an example to the teachings that Christ has shown to us. The seeds of faith get planted and we can be living testimonies of Christ's work by our example and the way we live our lives. We can either be the persecuted or the receiver of persecution. It is how we react to the way of treatment that can either bring so!some closer to knowing there savior or not wanting to do anything with him. He loves all of us and knows our heart. We can choose this day where we stand in serving the master our Lord or the other master the advesary. In the end we will not be a fence sitter we will have chosen even if we do not choose by our actions. And it is through those of us who choose to serve the Lord that he chooses to plant those seeds for others to know him because of our life examples and the way we treat another. I have learned through the women persecuted by Saul that when we truly believe in all Christ has done for us we can withstand and stand strong through all persecution. Even when it is hard.
