Queen of Ethiopians

Acts 8:27And he arose and went and behold, a man to Ethiopia, an Eunoch of great authority under Candace queen of the Ethiopians, who had charge of all her treasures, and come to Jerusalem to worship.

Who exactly was Queen Candace of Ethiopia? Here we are he Eunoch run into Philip to worship. Being the one in charge of all her treasures. In Ethiopia there is a history of many different women rulers. Candace was known to be famous for her military tactics. As a warrior they fought alongside their men. What has come about today in knowing of Candace comes from Roman history and excavation trips. The queen played a prominent role into the lives of her people. It is even said that Alexander the great felt he had to conquer her. The women rulers were known as Kandake and ruled in their own particular way. History even says that Candace eventually converted to Christ.

How as a women today can we resume leadership roles? Many of us as women don't realize we  fall into leadership roles. Especially when you have children involved. Or being an older sibling leader of a friend group maybe even a boss at work. We have those around us that look up to and watch with careful eyes on the path we are taking and think wow I would like to be like that women. In school especially elementary the saying was, " be a leader not a follower. "  Since we want a lot of times want to be a leader what are the many things we can do to be one of God's women warriors in his kingdom?  I know scripture says put on the full armour of God. As we think about that armour of god and leadership How can we stand strong?How can we fight along side the men for righteousness in the church with God armour? We can stand firm in the truths that we believe. Do we realize how much of a role we play in the lives of others? Can we stand as a witness to God even in our own peculiar way holding close the principles of that Jesus teaches us?  We meet so people in our life that recognize our moral that women warriors that is with in. They wonder how we can lead their hearts or know we will follow them to our own destruction.If we at struggling in our leadership role can we convert our hearts eventually to christ? Candace had Alexander the great that wanted to bring her down. We have the father of all lies that wants to bring us down and follow him waging war that we fought in heaven still on this earth. There might be times that we just can't fight be in that leadership role and feel like we just want to walk away from all that God gives us because we don't completely understand all the principle the gospel teaches and prophets talk about. It does take time and opening our hearts and just keep learning and striving for that better parts of our heart in his and all that his son had done for us. We are not meant to understand everything all at once we are meant to strive and to keep trying to be like jesus. How knows our hearts true intent to strive for that which is righteous into him. Just remember we can choose to be leaders in the gospel and strive to bring others to him through our example. Or we can be followers and follow all that feel lost and still look for christ. Even through history it is said that Candace eventually converted herself over to christ. She learned of him, perhaps maybe it started with her trusted eunuch who read the scriptures with Phillip that day. All we know that we have a choice to be a leader in bringing others to christ even those in our own household.
