Daughters Receive the Gospel

Doctrine and Covenants 25:1-2 ....All who receive the gospel are sons and daughters in my kingdom.....concerning God's will, and if thou art faithful and walk in the paths of virtue before me, I will preserve the life..... These words were told to Emma Smith, but I feel that these particular words ring true for all of us concerning being part of God's kingdom. How God considers us sons and daughters that come and believe in his word part of his kingdom. Have you ever considered God will in your life? Many times that I have contemplated myself. At times I have been wondered why I let go of the gospel teachings I believed in so much as a child. Have you ever wondered what it means the gospel of christ? If you Google it the meaning comes up as the good news. I know that for many it is hard to except that their could be any good news to their life that can transform them from the pain or anxiety, the emptiness that they might be feeling inside themself. Many of us including mysel...

Faithfulness of Lamanite Wives

Jacob 3: 5-7 Behold, the Lamanites your brethren, whom ye hate because of their filthiness and the cursing which hath come upon their skins, are more righteous than you; for they have not forgotten the commandment of the Lord, which was given unto our father—that they should have save it were one wife, and concubines they should have none, and there should not be whoredoms committed among them. And now, this commandment they observe to keep; wherefore, because of this observance, in keeping this commandment, the Lord God will not destroy them, but will be merciful unto them; and one day they shall become a blessed  people. Behold, their husbands love their wives, and their wives love their husbands; and their husbands and their wives love their children; and their unbelief and their hatred towards you is because of the iniquity of their fathers; wherefore, how much better are you than they, in the sight of your great Creator? As Jacob the prophet was talking to the Nephites he ex...

Zipporah

What are the many things we can look at when we look at Moses wife Zipporah? She was given by her father to Moses in the wilderness. She was willing to follow Moses to help save the Israelites until she went back to her father . On her travels with Moses she helped save him by cutting off the foreskin of her son when Moses was wrestling with an angel and then she called Moses a bloody bridesgroom. What significance can this all mean for all of us in covenants that God created for us? How many times do we watch others in our life wrestle with the teachings and covenants that God makes with us? Wondering day in and day out why he asks us to follow certain commandments that he has given us? Yet as we see even Moses and Zipporah knew what God asked the of the Israelites. Yet we get to see the struggle of following that commandment that was given to Moses and Zipporah probably even learned; otherwise she wouldn't have known how to stop the fight. She teaches us even in marriage we all ...

Zipporah and Her 6 Sisters

In Exodus 2:15-22  we find Moses fleeing from Egypt to the desert running into Zipporah and her six sisters trying to  water  their sheep with other carriers chasing them away. Moses helps defend the sisters so they might water the sheep making their work easier and able to accomplish the daily task at hand. When they return home their father was surprised they were done early and all 7 of his daughters explain what Moses did for them. With their father asking why they left the man at the well? These seven sisters had the help of one man to help carry on there daily task of feeding the sheep. When we think of the savior and him asking us to feed his sheep. How can one person help us along to carry out doing that exact task when all around us seem so hard to go about? When the world seems so out to get us? Many times it takes one person to say listen to the message that is at hand and defend what we have to say on Christ's behalf. The sisters were able to water their she...

Pharoah's Daughter

The Woman Who Saved the Baby Moses Many times we wonder how our simple acts of kindness play an impact on someone's life. When we look at Pharoah's daughter in rescuing Moses from the river we get to see the act play out for Moses. We get to see how one woman's decision helps a nation. Instead of leaving the barge in the water she became curious to what could be crying. Gaining as we look upon her the compassion she gives to a baby that goes on and save many. Her status in the court would have given the baby protection, and  to face her father could have given her execution as will. Would type of influence she must have had to save this one soul from being destroyed like so many other children around that time. Her wisdom on letting a Hebrew raise the child she found when confronted have way for Moses to be taught in his young age to know his own people's way. It makes me wonder how much she knew about the Hebrews that she was able to teach him as will or if she b...
